Over $1 Billion in Stimulus Money Already at Work in New York, According to Recovery.org

As of April 17, $1.13 billion dollars being spent in Empire State; transportation, infrastructure leading categories

14,695 jobs credited to the recovery spending

Seattle, WA — More than $1.13 billion in federal stimulus funding is currently being spent in New York, according to Recovery.org. The website was launched March 31st to track every dollar of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act spending by federal, state and local government agencies.

Roads and bridges have accounted for more than $525 million of the spending so far, with facilities making up another $559 million. An updated category tally is listed below, while real-time tracking of state, county, and city spending projects are available at www.recovery.org.

According to a federal formula, at least 14,695 New York jobs are being supported by the Recovery Act spending.
